WHAT PEOPLE SAY

My thoughts on the Game Of Thrones Finale

Ok, so while GOT technically doesn't meet the requirements for Conversations on Crime and Cinema, it is, at least in part, about punishment which is kind of like crime (as well as family and honor and all that other crap) and it's very cinematic.

Anywhoo, in a word. 'No'. While watching a creature made of nothing but sticks tennis balls and pixels mourn for his imaginary mother ripped my heart to shreds, let think about this: Tyrion was a tresaonous imp, and yet he was allowed to have this massive monologue and all of the characters listened to him. No. John Snow literally murdered the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and was allowed to wallow in a prison instead of being immediately decapitated at the very least. No. Bran the Broken was 'elected' King and everyone seemed to be okay with this as the Unsullied left Westeros leaving the seat of power unprotected. No.

To be honest, this is lazy writing. LAZY!!!!!!  I heard a rumor that the writers of the episode are telling fans that if they could do better, to do it. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Because, for real, if this is best that these 'pros' can do. Give me the budget (or at least tell me the budget) for all of Season 8, what you spent the money on and I promise you... me and my film school buddies can come up with a much better, more satisfying, interesting - not jus final episode, but entire season- for the same or less money. So yeah... bring it, yo!

Here's Another Episode!

   My Thoughts On Dark Phoenix

Ok, before I start, I want to get one thing straight. Sophie Turner is hot! And as far as actresses go, she's fine. I have nothing against her at all. It's not her fault that she got caught up in two of the biggest and most disappointing finales in cinema history to date. It's just the way things worked out. I'm sure she'll have many years of hotness to go.

Anyways, I'm not going to take much time on this one, but let's look at it this way... when you have a BILLION dollar franchise and you screw it up so irreparably, you know that egos are involved. Lots of egos. And when the STUDIO that makes the turd that's being flogged, has more or less apologized for the state of a film, you know it's really bad. Better that this saga ended with Days Of Future Past, or even better, Deadpool 2. But did they? No. Instead they let egotistical shit heads in a boardroom screw it up- once again proving that the American film industry is nothing but a bunch of meatheads with cranial-rectal obstructions who have no respect for the art form or even the audience. Thanks a lot guys. Really.
